VYNE LIFE GROUPS (ALL AGES)

These groups are designed to target life challenges and victories to help people of all ages to overcome obstacles as well as achieve goals. Various topics include peer pressure; addictions; health and wellness; anxiety & depression; financial freedom; and more! The goal is to provide a safe environment for people to learn and grow with a strong support system. 

VYNE LEARNING GROUPS (ALL AGES)

This area is designed to enhance learning with emphasis upon technology to include computer and financial literacy; social media platforms; and other educational platforms that will enhance productivity, growth and development. One goal is to obtain state of the art technology and program teachers to assist all. 

VYNE SUPPORT GROUPS

These groups are designed to provide support and help all overcome life challenges and obstacles that include addiction; abuse; low self-esteem; and other factors that deter forward motion in life. Inclusive will be AA meetings, Weight Watcher meetings, seminars and workshops for self-esteem, and more.

VYNEKIDZ (AGE 8-15) Summer/After School Program

This Out-of-School program is designed for boys and girls with a special focus on youth from the low-income community through funding from the Department of Human Services Income Maintenance Program or Private Resources. 

Program objectives include improving the self-esteem and coping skills of youth and their families each summer by providing productive recreational alternatives three days each week along with nutritious meals, teaching CORE values such as honesty and forgiveness, and providing mentoring for the boys and girls by the program coaches and staff. 

The Vyne's Programs

The Vyne’s programs and services will include Summer Community Outreach programs and activities, GED Preparation Classes, P.O.W.E.R.- Partners Parenting Program, The H.O.P.E. Project- Addictions Prevention Program, Financial Literacy Seminars, including the 2023 Economic Empowerment Summit, home renovation projects and much more, all targeted toward low to moderate income individuals and families. 

The Vyne will also partner with other outreach focused ministries of Halifax County to intensify the range of services offered to the community. 

The H.O.P.E. (Helping Out People Every day) Project

The CDC vision identifies substance abuse as one of its target areas. The goal is to work with the Department of Human Services, to make available addiction prevention and intervention services for adults and youth in Halifax County. 

HOPE Project services have ranged from providing support groups for the general community, to holding bi-weekly education / prevention classes for youth ages 5-12 in Residential 4 Community. The elementary school and local summer camp partnerships continue during summer months to ensure continued outreach. 

Supplemental activities include art, music and dance therapy, recreational outings, referrals for emergency services to meet concrete needs, and development of community-based support. 

P.O.W.E.R. (People Overcoming with Education and Resources)

P.O.W.E.R. (People Overcoming with Education and Resources) partners program serves low-income youth ages 5-11 years and their families. Parents from Elementary schools will be the primary referral source but families from a variety of communities will be included. 


This is a multifaceted program with a variety of supports surrounding the Parenting Education Groups. In addition, the project provides: Follow-up Individualized Parenting Coaching Services; Youth Socialization / Recreation Groups; Family Assessment and Referral Services. 


A city-wide Spring Family Festival which highlights a unique “Parenting Lab” provided a fun, learning environment for families from distressed communities. This program will include a 2023 Summer Family - Parenting Retreat for all parents who complete the full program. 


The Vyne plans to sponsor Parenting Support Groups for parents of 5 – 12-year-olds, in collaboration with Abiding Branch Christian Ministries, INC Children and Youth Ministry and other religious entities. 

Righteous Renovations

Righteous Renovations will partner with sister churches, small businesses, and other non-profit organizations to provide volunteers and some funding for an extensive home renovation project for a low-income family in South Boston/Halifax in November and December of 2024. This project will unite churches of different racial backgrounds and locations (urban/suburban) together to provide a vital service to a family identified through the Housing Program. 

Righteous Renovations will lead in an exterior home renovation of a in summer 2024 and will explore other small renovation projects that can be done solo and in collaboration with other community organizations. Additional home renovation/beautification projects will be planned for 2025 and beyond. 


The Vyne’s Financial Literacy Service is determined to provide economic development programs to assist community residents in becoming empowered, self-sufficient and successful. 

Through its 2023 two-day Economic Empowerment Conference, geared to both current and potential small business owners, potential business owners as well as individuals and families needing to create personal economic empowerment plans, this program will provide invaluable information on financial planning and small business development in collaboration with a variety of learned guest presenters and organizations such as the small business administration.

D.R.E.A.M. (Determined to Reach Every Academic Milestone)

 The Vyne will initiate a GED Preparation Course open to the general community but primarily marketed to the distressed communities in and around Halifax County. This 12-week course is designed for adults who want to receive their high school credentials and includes classroom instruction, on-line lessons, tutoring and test taking strategies. There will be is a minimal $30 registration fee which includes all services as well as a taking the actual GED exam at no charge if the student demonstrates readiness by passing the practice exam. 

The Vyne’s Positive Impact HIV/AIDS Ministry

The Positive Impact Ministry provides education, training, testing and HIV/AIDS support to the church and communities surrounding Halifax County. A community advisory group will be established to provide valuable input, and a variety of collaborative connections will be established. 

Through collaboration with the Halifax County Health Department, testing will take place on-site at The Vyne Inc which will include referrals for follow up services and support where needed. 

The Vyne Food Distribution Hub will provide emergency food through the Food Pantry and the AGAPE Clothes Closet. 

Developing Boys, Discipling Men

 This program is expressly designed for helping men deal with real-life issues from healthy relationships, money management, personal accountability and more. In addition, they mentor boys from the church and community, many of whom are missing positive, healthy male role models in their lives. The mentoring component includes a variety of outings and activities that provide the basis for relationship building. 

Grant Funding will allow this program to flourish and reach the youth population from the community that will greatly benefit from the mentoring and training components. 

Daughters of Destiny Program

The Daughters of Destiny will identify the need to assist young women, ages 13 – 17 in their personal, spiritual and emotional growth. DOD Program will be established to meet bi-weekly with teen girls to provide education, training and mentoring. Topics range from hygiene, healthcare and sexuality to proper etiquette and career planning. DOD is seeking youth from the community for active participation in this program and needs financial resources to fully achieve the vision for this outreach program. 

S.A.L.T. Ministry

The S.A.L.T. or Social Action Leadership Team of The Vyne, Inc. will be established to assist the community in staying informed and involved in local, city, metro area and national plans that impact the lives and livelihoods of citizens of Halifax County. Through attendance at community meetings, connections with Local Government offices and partnership with The Vyne Inc., S.A.L.T. will develop into a vital change agent for the Community.
